Forgotten Temple
A project I worked on in my spare time, made in Unreal Engine 5 — the full level art pipeline from a 2D plan on paper and a grey blockout to final lighting, simulated water and atmosphere.

From paper plan to final shot
Forgotten Temple is a project I worked on in my spare time while taking Level Art courses — made in Unreal Engine 5. Everything in the scene was done from scratch by me, from the first idea to the final shot. The only things I didn't author are the marketplace assets — and even the temple itself I assembled brick by brick from modular wall and floor pieces.
The pipeline ran the classic way: a 2D plan on paper, a grey blockout, references, asset selection and set dressing, then materials, lighting, fog and sky. The hardest part was the water — a full animated water simulation with a custom-tuned material.

Concept & 2D plan
The idea and the map started on paper — a 2D plan with composition and points of interest, before touching the engine.
Blockout
A grey blockout pass to prove scale, sightlines and the flow of the space before any real assets went in.
References & assets
Reference boards for mood and architecture, then picking the asset kits that could deliver that vision.
Set dressing & temple build
Full asset placement across the scene — and the temple itself assembled brick by brick from modular wall and floor pieces.
Material unification
Assets and materials from different packs edited to match in color and light — so the scene reads as one world, not a kit mix.
Water simulation
The hardest part: an animated water simulation with a custom-tuned water material.
Lighting & atmosphere
The light rig, fog and sky working together — mood, focal points and the light path that guides the eye.
Wind animation
Tree movement animation to bring the vegetation to life — nothing in the scene stands still.
Cinematic pass
Camera work, framing and the final art pass that turns the environment into a presentable piece.
